Florian Roithmayr

Florian Roithmayr came to El Kurru in January 2014, and lived with the team at site for three weeks. He has produced two works in direct relation to his stay at site. The first is a poem which uses many of the technical terms that he heard in discussions between members of the team at site, and plays with alliteration and assonance to produce rhythmic patterns.

His second work is a soundscape, which was recorded in different locations around the dig house and the excavation itself. The soundscape begins in the house, then moves slowly into the field, following the El Kurru workmen.
